Dear Sirs,
I would like to seek legal advice and may require possible legal representation, if required with regards to Gratuity Dues which are payable to me by my previous Company. Below are some facts:

1. I was employed with a Multinational Bank for 12 years (recently resigned), since September 2007 in the UK and Singapore and moved to India last year in July 2018.
2. My employment contract states that I am an employee of the group and its affiliates since Sep 2007 and that continuation of my employment is preserved upon joining the India entity.
3. My employment contract also mentions that I am eligible for gratuity payment as per the provisions of the Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972.
4. During my verbal discussion with the Company HR, they mentioned that I would be receiving Gratuity payment.
5. I have resigned from the Company and I have a copy of the Resignation Acceptance Letter.

Questions:
1. As part of the Full & Final Settlement which they have sent and are asking me to sign, they have not mentioned anything about Gratuity - I have already questioned them on this.
2. Having read the Payment of Gratuity Act 1972, I could not see any section which specifies about what continuation of service means - it does not mention that I must be employed with a Company registered in India. So as per the law, I am eligible for gratuity claim? If so, what would be the amount.
3. Appreciate advise on what steps I can take to ensure that I am paid the requisite dues.

Appreciate assistance and help urgently.

Thank You
Arijit

Hi,
I married my spouse in USA, we both were in love. AS she was running out of her VISA status I married her to bring her aback to valid dependent VISA and allow her to stay in USA. But later I learned that actually I have been trapped by her family, while we were in Love her parents lured me to buy a property on both of her names and took money from me for other loans she has also made me buy a gold ornament for her and all.
Both our families talked and planned to get us married in India, she left 2 months prior to me and she is not talking to me now and also making a lot of false allegations on me. I think they are planning to get ransom from me or take that house I bought on both our names. I am not sure what is going to happen forward, I wanted to get away from this marriage and her family, please help me with what legal action I can take in here

I'm an only daughter of my parents and married for 4 years. I've had issues with my mother in law (she continuously gossips about me to father in law, complains about me to my husband, lies and manipulates when confronted) and my husband supports his parents denying everything they do against me. Sometimes he denies things that she has said in his presence, blaming me for imaginating it. Neither does he support me nor is he able to stop his mother's behaviour towards me. When confronted he and his parents deny everything, lie and manipulate everything said and done and become hostile towards me, not talking to me for weeks. My mother is a widow, terminally ill suffering from CKD and I was promised by my husband (it's a love marriage) that she will stay with us when she is no more willing to stay alone. Now whenever I talk about bringing my mother to our marital house, he goes quiet and ignores my requests. We stay in my office provided residence,( I am working and very much capable of supporting my mother financially) with his parents staying with us. I have no problem about his parents staying with us but they won't allow my mother to stay with us in my own official residence. I'm currently staying with my mother in her house, with my daughter, partly because the emotional turmoil in that house was too much for me to take and partly because my mother is not comfortable staying alone. Now my husband and in-laws accuse me of keeping their child/grandchild away from them but I've never denied them to visit her or take her with them for a few days. My husband wants me to talk nicely to his parents, still denying their role in everything that has happened till date, asks me to come home without my mother, blames me still for imaginating things and causing a ruckus in their household. I fear that the cycle of gossips, complaints, lies, manipulation and hostility will continue if I go back. Also I don't want my Mom to stay alone in her fragile state. Can the behaviour of my in-laws and husband be called emotionally abusive and what are my legal rights in this situation?
