I've recently purchased a flat in Bangalore. How can I show it as my permanent address proof? Being newly purchased, only the registration of sale deed has been done, the mutation hasn't taken place yet.
In India primarily parents’ address is taken as permanent address. Documents required for proof of address can be - Adhaar(UID), Passport, Arms Licence, Driving Licence, Ration Card with Photo, for the person whose photo is affixed, Certificate of address with photo from Govt. recognized Educational Institutions (for students only), Income Tax PAN Card, Notarized Sale/lease Agreement, Vehicle registration certificate, Notarized Leave and Licences/Lease Agreement (along with NOC from landlord) etc..
In your case, you’ve bought a new flat in Bangalore. The sale registered sale/ purchase deed would itself be a valid proof of your residence. The new flat can only be taken as your new permanent address if you do not own any other residential property because only one residential property can be considered your permanent address. Also, the newly bought property can only be registered as your permanent residential address if you have been residing in a property that you’ve rented and show your intention to reside in the new property.
