Sir, counterfeiting of currency is an offence under section 489-A of the Indian Penal Code. A person convicted of such a crime can be imprisoned with a heavy fine and life imprisonment or ten years of minimum sentence.

The case would fall before the jurisdiction of a sessions judge where you by a basic governing principle of Indian jurisprudence would be innocent until proven guilty. Remedy is in the basic nature of proceedings where the public prosecutor would cross examine and a trial would be conducted as per procedure laid down by the criminal procedure code. As the accused you will be able to defend your stance by providing you evidence of innocence. If you haven’t committed the crime, charges cannot be proved against you and you will be acquitted. Please make sure to hire a sound legal practitioner to have the best representation before the court.
