The purchaser of my property is finding difficult to pay stamp duty by net banking. Is it possible to pay through demand draft beyond a certain amount? Is validity of query a concern for submitting stamp duty if draft of conveyance deed has been prepared?

Answer 1

Payment of stamp duty, at the time of conveyance, may be via cash, Demand Draft or e-payment option. Some States in India like Maharashtra, have mandated e-payment of Stamp Duty for increased transparency and corruption control. If you reside in a State where e-paymnet is not mandated then you may pay via Demand Draft. Conveyance deed is the ultimate deed or contract transferring the title of a property and it is officially executed only after the paynet of valid Stamp Duty and Registration thereon.
