HOW TO LICENSE MY IDEA TO ANY MEDIA HOUSE FOR PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT ?

I have an idea which I wish to sell to any media house ( News Channel ) for a program development over the concept. It is about total electoral reform and will change the way we elect governments. I believe it will be a high TRP program, if developed consciously, and will lead to a really long and serious national debate. Pls guide me on licensing my idea ( legal points, mutual binding terms to the parties ) to any such party whom I make a deal with. Kindly explain in detail.

Copyright laws do not provide protection to ideas but only to expressions of such ideas and hence it is advisablle that you reduce your idea into a written work. You are, to an extent, protected by the confidentiality clause assocaited with any such communication between you and the media house, however in case of a conflict it gives rise to various complications and the process is extremely long drawn. To avoid such complexities you may develop a manuscript and register it for copyright protection. This would ensure complete protection of your idea.
