I have been a tenant since 1976. My landlady was a lessee which expired in 1976. We continued being tenants and she continued taking rent from us. We have rent receipts for all these years. Now there is a nexus between my landlady (lessee), the actual landlord and a new buyer. The new buyer is offering us an extremely paltry amount and asking us to vacate the premises. We have now sent our rent through postal money order and waiting for the landlady (lessee's) reaction. Need guidance....
