We bought a resale flat in the year 1995 at Jesal Park,Bhayandar East,Thane and duly executed sale deed on which stamp duty Rs.5,250/- was also paid. The whole transaction was handled by a real estate agent whom we trusted.Susequently registered coop housing society has transferred share certificate also in our name.We are the second buyer of the flat which was first bought by our seller directly from the builder.Electricity bill ang gas connection is also comes in our name. Now we want to sell the flat. But the agent is saying that our flat purchase deed is not registered and that is the problem. Can you please help us understand is it really the problem and if so what are the legal remedies available to us and how long it will take to solve this issue. Please advise so that we will be able to sell the flat at the earliest. We wish to mention here that person who sold us the flat is not alive and we don't know the whereabouts of his family members at present. Also we have not taken any mortgage loan on the said flat.
