Answer 1

In India the Wildlife protection act 1972 provides for creation of protected areas; prohibits all acts of hunting; classifies the animals into 6 schedules according to status of protection; provides for constitution of National Board of Wildlife and State Board of Wildlife. The punishment and penalties for those who violate the law is also under Wildlife Protection Act. Under Section 51 of the Act penalties are mentioned which provides for three years of imprisonments or fine extending to Rs. 25,000 or both.
