Procedure and charge for legal heir certificate
I am from Hyderabad..We have taken education loan from a bank by keeping our house documents as collateral in 2014. The property is on my father's name and he expired in 2016. We have already started paying the loan amount but as the property is on my father's name and he is expired now, the bank is asking to provide a legal heir certificate. So,my question is what is the procedure to obtain legal heir certificate and how much will be charged?
For the issuance of such a certificate, one can approach the Collector office of the district. As far as procedure is concerned – you can collect an application form from the office , fill it, attach the supporting documents and submit alongwith the requisite fees (nominal) in the form as prescribed.
The documents that you need to submit are : identity proof + death certificate + application form (legal heir certificate) + affidavit (depnding on the auhtority). To know about the charges, you will have o contact the authorities directly.
