My servant stole a loaf of bread for her son who was hungry, will her good purpose behind taking that bread save her from any liability?

It will not, as the Indian Penal Code looks at the act of taking away the item as theft. The mens rea in this situation is that he/she had the intention to take away the bread. Whatever be the purpose, the act and the intention of taking away the item will consitute the offence of theft.
