I supported my friend's plan of stealing a gold jewellery. I didn't go with him while he was stealing, I just gave him ideas. Can I be charged for any offence?

You have abetted your friend by conspiracy as you gave him ideas. Under section 107 IPC, second part if abetment is by conspiracy it is required that either some act/ommission should be done for the offence abetted to be punished for abetment.  So if he acted for the offence of theft then you can be held liable for abetment and you punishment will be dependant on whether offence was completed or not.
